During the summer some natural aeration is produced by surface winds which aerate only the top layer of water. Far below the surface the water stratifies and the bottom layer remains choked. When left unconditioned, the deep water develops quality problems. The Koender's System releases air into the bottom of the pond which conditions the deep water ensuring that the entire volume of water is aerated. Combined with the surface winds, the water supply is circulated to maintain its healthy state.
